Patrick McCarty, MD 


Biography


Dr. McCarty received his undergraduate degree at the University of Washington before attending the University of Washington School of Medicine where he obtained a medical doctorate. He completed general surgery internship and residency at the University of California San Diego. He went on to complete a fellowship in minimally invasive and foregut surgery at the University of Southern California. He has been awarded membership in the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES).

Dr. McCarty is a board certified general surgeon with a focus on minimally invasive general and foregut surgery. In addition to providing emergency general surgery and critical care, he has extensive training in surgical management of problems associated with the esophagus, stomach, gallbladder and hernias. He has expertise in anti-reflux surgery, including hiatal or paraesophageal hernia repair, LINXÒ magnetic sphincter augmentation and gastric fundoplication. In addition to diagnostic and therapeutic esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy, he also performs surgery for problems of the small bowel, colon, rectum and anus. He treats breast cancer as well as skin and soft tissue disease like skin cancer, melanoma and lipomas.

In his free time, Dr. McCarty is an avid hiker/mountaineer, and he enjoys playing golf and making music.
